Sometimes you just smile

April 14, 2009 § 12 Comments

Sometimes you just smile
And there nothing can hide .
Sometimes you just seeΒ
And the sight sets you free .
From the depth of the sky,
To the height of the seas,
The world is what it is meant to be –
From the jiggle of set chimes,
To the babbled nursery rhymes,
From the chirp of a bird,
To the early morn crimson skirt,
The world is what it is meant to be ,Β
Always there to set you free.

Touch of nature ,
Touch of humanity,
You do feel , that skies are roamed
And that all you see is owned,
That the breeze from the sea ,Β
Is meant to push you to see ,Β
Those trees who do sway far at peace .

In the beget of all rhapsodies,
One in the sky does merge
And within does emerge ,
A world on the verge ,
Of a smile and it does purge
As the smile sets alive.

Sometimes you just smile
And there nothing can hide .
Sometimes you just see
And the sight sets you free.

πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

So,this is it.This is my very own tag…after all I am the smileyananda..er…smiley man πŸ˜€

The objective:- To make people smile. When you saw the smiles above ,I am sure you started smiling too. That is the whole idea of this tag,to make others smile/laugh. I don’t need to tell you all about the good effects of a smile, but a smile always helps you get out of lows and makes you feel great. So this tag shall spread the smile,in all the blogs. At least this way for once all the blogs shall be smiling and looking bright and happy at the same time.Let us for one post forget all the nonsense in the world and just spread the smile.

Β

On my face I have a smile,
IT is a sign of the joy of being alive.
A smile upon my face,
And at it you gaze
and now you have it on your face.

This happiness is life,
Forever we can smile,
Never let sadness become ripe,
Put a smile upon your face,
And grace through the days,
Gloom is all haste and waste,
Never let the smile run away,
Today is happiness’ day.

On my face I have a smile,
IT is a sign of the joy of being alive.
A smile upon my face,
And at it you gaze
and now you have it on your face.

Β

So all you have to do is post some funny pics/write something which will make people smile and/or laugh. And ya you have to begin the post with a line of smileys like how I have done πŸ˜€Β

The dreamer

March 1, 2009 § 17 Comments

A breath of thought,
And a world bloomed.
In it all was as it should be,
Beauty and sweet to see.
Yet a thought corrupted the mind
And then started the works of a fiend,
The earlier world now grew weeds,
After all there is never peace.

And now as the weeds without the plants
Rot , as no food was there for thought,
The dreamer did realize, that what seed
he does bury, will determine what he does reap.
And now was not too late,
So determined to write his fate,
He opened his mind to the sky,to the sun,
And let the water run
To the good plants
And when few did pop,he plucked the weeds.

P.S:- My first exam in on Tuesday.

Earth(a poem for four year old kids)

January 11, 2009 § 12 Comments

Someone I know who is doing a Montessori course, asked me to write a poem for “four year old,in not more than five lines.” And by far this is one of the toughest things I have done.It was fun trying to think like a four year old.At four, you know more and you are aware of things around you more. But I can’t remember much what I felt about earth, when I was a four year old.I am more sure of what I felt when I was a six year old.

Β

From mobile

Geography has always been a fascination to me,so has history(people still wonder, how I managed to ask “doubts” i.e. questions in history class),well so much for five lines. The hardest part, was keeping it within five lines, especially doing it with what possibly might be the vocabulary of a four year old(truthfully,my English was nothing to write home about, until tenth standard,I started writing poetry more often and got interested in improving my language). So tell me what you think. Here goes:-

Earth is a round ball-

A small rock near a big hot star,

Round with blue , brown and green.

Twinkling little stars and moon can be seen-

Here there is lots to play and see!

P.S:- Those of you who have a “kid” at home, tell me what they think about the poem πŸ˜›

Thinking

January 8, 2009 § 8 Comments

A few moments in time,

Hours spent within the mind.

A few thoughts churned about,

Options battle their bout.

And hours fly by,

Yet a few moments,it is a sigh

In the clock of the world,

Yet in your herald,

It is of life and living,

Pictures, alive and playing.

Nothing can melt the thought,

And the winner of the bouts fought,

Shall be the one which decide the path.

And so chosen you will move,

Till the end,day in and minutes through.

Regret not what you chose,

World will always oppose.

And the best will rise,

When the world lies,

For the strength lies wthin,

Nothing in it is a sin-

Except not thinkingΒ

and dieing within.

And a few moments of thought,

Will mean what you foughtΒ

And what you win,Life

Is to be lived and strive

To it,we will.

Four years since that tsunami

December 26, 2008 § 17 Comments

It was on a boxing day, four years back, that a series of waves, killed many thousands and forever changed the way,we look at the sea.I still remember watching the pictures of cars floating and the world in half a hell. From Indonesia to Kenya, the waves spread, unleashing natures fury.

Picture from here.Β The above picture won the world press photo award for 2004.

Such cataclysmic events, just prove that we are part of nature too.Since then a lot of reconstruction and rehabilitation work has been done,to help the countries and people affected by it.While 9/11 and the war which followed showed the folly of fanatism of a kind and the retaliation of another, this showed us that,it would take nature hardly a second,to wipe out everything.

Yesterday,I was at Kovallam,on the shore, playing football.Seeing the red flag warning people not to venture into the sea and the turbulent waves, made me think, what if i had been at the same spot four years ago? There would have been no flag warnings,as no one k new about.I put away such this eerie thought, lest my holiday mood, gets damp so horrendously.

I had written a poem, after the disaster ,i was in my eighth grade then,

A rise in tide on a fullmoon day,
As people wake on a Sunday.
Playing in the sands are kids,
Rising up are the tides.
Two five hundred plus six hundred miles away,
Started the tsunamis on their way.
As many a thousand died,
Pooling villages and quenching lives,
Are the tsunamis on this day.

In Lanka more than 30,
In India around 13,
In Thailand around 80,
In Indonesia more than 40
are the lives
taken by the waves.
National and International funds are rising
As the toll is rising.

Many on a dream holiday,
Face sorrow on a boxing day.
If the disaster was on land, well
There won’t be many left as now,
So lets say,
‘Strange are the ways of God’.

I haven’t changed anything, not even the facts,on the exact death.Of course I was tempted to change a few things, but this what exactly I felt at that moment. All those who watch a disaster on T.V. can say is how things could have been worse. Not that I want some disaster to befall me,I am happy the way I am.Let us hope Earth is a better place.

worry

December 17, 2008 § 15 Comments

Worry works from within,
spoiling happiness with prickly questions.
A million ways to spoil our being-
a silent killer called worry,
affects our mind with
a hundreds of gray propositions.
deathly and hopeless
it tries to make you feel,
dejected and worthless,
it tries to chain your heel.

Hour and after you feel lost,
hour after hour the past,
just keeps coming apart.
Future it tries to steal
and life it tries to make
a ghost of,for real.
yet you know these are illusions,
which are your perception’s delusions,
you know that it is bound to get better,
life is much more livelier.

Kill worry,
make your life your own.
When times passes
and people are gone,
what remains will be ,
what you have borne
and undergone
and finally how you survived
and how much you have revived
from the soil,
back into a tree, of time and age
and strength to strength,
the storms of the past
would be your memory,
but bright days of water
and sunshine will be
your gift ,to yourself,
forever,you can shine,
even if pests try to hurt,
you can be firm and curt
and stick to what is yours,
for life is to lived
and not spent hour after hour
behind blank gray masks.

Don’t let worry,
have its way.
Be yourself
don’t be afraid.
Be yourself,
don’t think you will fail.
Just,be yourself,
not others or fake,
for your own sake.

A carved pillar

August 23, 2008 § 8 Comments

A picture speaks a thousand words,
it takes but a few seconds.
Description is not needed,
everything is done and said,
in the one frame of the eternal carving.
It is beautiful,wordless and mesmerizing.

Picture taken at Ellora.

….Teaches….

Cowardice teaches you bravery,
Anger teaches you patience,
greed teaches you poverty,
hate teaches you love,
disrespect teaches you respect,
tears teach you to smile,
depression teaches you elevation,
suppression teaches you emancipation,
failure teaches you success,
death teaches you life,
illusions teach you reality,
misery teaches you joy,
division teaches you unison,
one teaches you unity,
negative teaches you positive,
darkness teaches you light,
black teaches you white,
strife teaches you peace,
humanity teaches you inhumanity,
touchwood or serendipity
you just need to discover
and understand the other.
