Hopeless-hagen
December 21, 2009 § 5 Comments
Googling- hagen means noble boy. Well the nobel boys(and girls) of the world, sat down to discuss and (try) agree upon some common measures. Well it didn’t take a genius to predict the inevitable-nothing positive has come out of it.
Sure, globalization means that we the people of the world, with our wonderful rights to speech, voiced our despair; But no one heard us. Maybe, as the Delhi CM said, when asked about the Commonwealth games, let us pray.
The Accord by the way is this(click on the link to read it). And the flaws just present themselves to you, unless of course, you don’t happen to understand English. This clearly shows that no one gives a damn. I had mentioned in the podcast, that a solution is going to be tough to arrive at and also discussed some of the problems- well pity our leaders, seem to crying over spilt milk and more bothered about other things- this shows we still cannot see ourselves as humans first.
I am not going to write a huge post, about this, mainly because those who read my blog are clever enough to understand things anyway, but I agree to most of what he has to say.
Recently, I went for a debate, where the topic was ” Climate change a conspiracy against the developing world” and well it seems true now. I had talked about in my podcast- pledging money etc, shows us that the “West” is still after control over the others.
The US portrays itself as a champion of modern “free” values, but it is the main culprit(or so it seems). If you are so wise, why don’t you just set some examples? We have enough hypocrites here and we know how you people work, so if you give a damn about “global warming”( when your cities are covered in two feet of ice), then you better start doing some work.
Transfer of technology and establishing a fund sounds great, but where is the technology? And USD 100 billion? You mean, that the developing world needs only that much to change, when your companies need more to bail themselves out?
Shifting the burden on the developing world is fine, but the main aim here is to try to provide a square meal a day to our entire population, providing gainful employment(how about cleaning the environment?) etc. If you indeed have the technology, why aren’t you already using it?
I have already mentioned(in my podcast) that this is not about saving Earth, but this is about saving humanity. But the treats are apparently not visible to many. Whether the scientific results are true or not is a question, this is a critical issue. Yesterday we fought over our resources, today we fight over who religion and sects , tomorrow we will be fighting over our waste.
And rationing the amount of energy a person can use is absurdity. Unfortunately we(who have the technology and the rest) use (and emit) more than those who are living in refugee camps and fighting for survival. Maybe as a specie, we will survive through this. But it is not about that, we are talking about living-as “the most intelligent race”, we deserve better(?). Unfortunately, there seems to be a lack of humanism among our leaders.
The way forward- come up with “green technology” for the primary industries first- no drying(and polluted) rivers is not going to help reduce the amount of water in the ocean. If nuclear is the way forward, then well better start using to produce energy, before Uncle Sam decides he can’t answer questions and throws one at us, to shut us up and as for the nuclear waste, well I am sure the deserts make a very good dumping yard(hope you get the sarcasm).
Maybe manufacturing goods which last long( just try your international brands here, to make a washing machine work for more than a year, you need waste about Rs.5000, make calls, threaten to sue etc) and follow some basic norms. Improving public transportation facilities will help( seeing people hanging from foot boards isn’t let’s say isn’t going to make me take a bus!) and also reducing traffic jams will help. Planting more trees in urban areas, will help lower the temperature(caused due to concrete and metal) and reduce the need for ACs.
I did feel that dividing industries among countries(to avoid duplication of resources), might be a solution, but then it has many flaws. One thing is for sure- time to see ourselves as humans first and the rest.
Well to end this post ,let me quote Shelley–
Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!
Religion, freedom and What to kill?
July 30, 2009 § 12 Comments
As a human being your place on Earth is dependent on your “sense of belonging”. And we try to belong to a myriad number of groups , in various permutations and combinations , but ultimately the one that seems to scar the singular human comradeship is our religious affiliation.
To secularists it causes endless heart aches, to see humans tear apart each other. But then we have come to a point , where a few frown upon these secularists and the heads of such groups declare them as infidels or a threat to their religion and that they need to be dealt with.
Is belonging or not belonging to a religious group all that important?
What has made religion the single autonomous power , with their various Gods?
One argument would be that man in general prefers not to take up responsibility.
The irony here is, we have taken it as our responsibility to take care of these religions , with our life and even more.
As we move into a new Era , where in we have started to accept that we need to change our attitude and our demeanour and approach to solving the pragmatic problems in living, the way we define our “sense of belonging” is quintessential .
The reason for problems is that we interact and in the process two universes of ideas clash , the barring is too much to sustain a bi-ambitious world.
One way to ensure a mono-synthetic society is to conclude that suppression is the only way to maintain a balance. If we look at this syllogism closer , we will find that the major premise is that we need a balance and the minor one that suppression is the only way.
And this exactly is what religion has helped evolve over the ages of humanity.
I do not claim religion is the root of evil , rather that religion has been chained and is being made to do as the masters who control it want it to do. Religion in essence aims at freeing man and hopes to breach the boundaries of human perception.
But in reality the essence of religion lies in the minds of people . The majority of whom are gullible, influenced by the rhetoric of orators and politicians. The reason for this gullibility is because we cannot define what is “good and what is “bad” in absolute sense. The alteration done is so simple that many fail to see it – a change in the yard scale. And to change this , we first need to change the latter premise – that suppression is the key to the balance.
To redefine maintaining a balance in any other way , than the existing one, is going to be a task which is hard to even imagine – we would need to move away centuries of domination and slavery. Unfortunately , the method adopted in India(i.e. giving reservations) is a negative step. In a way it is acknowledging that we have become subservient to the pseudo dogmas. It would only strengthen the hold of the suppressive methods.
What is suppression? This is a important question to answer. I would call it curtailing ‘freedom’.
Freedom is again a word which needs to be defined. You can say freedom is that which gives an individual a proportionate sense of belonging and acceptance. And here lies the answer , to what we can try do.
We need to understand and appreciate freedom. The line between indulgence and freedom may be very thin , almost nonexistent but the crux of freedom lies in the way we perceive and interact with others. Of course we cannot interfere with the way people think or make choices for them , but what we can do is try to remove the vintage prejudices and sneers , by stopping them from reaching our future.
We should try to find our way to a better race , not by thinking what ‘God‘ would find comforting but by understanding that our decisions are binding on the future of our kind. It might seem Utopian to dream of such a day, for after all we are no more than a galaxy of cells working together to survive . But then doesn’t this galaxy coexist without any Upheavals? Of course you can say that their thinking capacity is taken away by the ‘brain’. But what is the brain , but again another collection of cells?
But of course there is always a reflex or death. We can say reflexes give us a short term relief , i.e. revolutions are a temporary respite and well that death is the ultimate end of a bad mind. But then what dies and what lives on?
This is the question , which religions have capitalized on. And through out our history this is the question used as a fear of tool. I do wonder if hell really did exist, didn’t those exploiters realize that they would be the first to be dipped into a cauldron of boiling oil? But of course they do claim that , they are messengers of “God” .
At the same time without fear and guilt , we humans probably will be out of control. But then , I think it is better we remove these fears created by our imagination and present to our kind the real threats – without proper cooperation and coordination our race might bring about its own end; Earthquakes, tsunamis , floods, drought etc .
If we care enough for the living – this is not just about ‘healing the world’ , it is about saving ourselves. The world can take care of itself. Earth as a planet will go on for millions and billions of years. And anyway whatever you do , will affect the entire universe . And no it is not caring for the smaller things – it caring for the most important thing – the ‘I’ .
Kill religion? I don’t think so. We need to kill our inhibitions, which stops us from understanding.
Is killing justifiable? Can you face yourself ?
P.S;- Thanks Indi for helping me in edit this 🙂
The Angel Of God by Jyothi Menon – Book review
March 29, 2009 § 17 Comments
Picture from the Author’s site(link at the end).
A pretty ‘warm’ book and a lovely story. Something about it makes you feel comfortable, maybe becuase we Indians already have heard about people, whom she has created . This book would have welcomed more superlative appraisal from me, if not for a few places where the ‘ HR ‘ sticks out.
The story has three main characters , the first one being a underworld don called Moosa . The character is someone who you would like to encounter in real life,in fact you do wonder where are such good , kind hearted people, but then you realize that something is not right and well he is ‘ bastardised by the circumstances’ – his childhood in the world famous Dharawi and the various illegal things he gets into make him into a black sheep, but a sheep never the less.
The second is a character called Bhaskaran who is from an ancient family in Kerala. He grows in a place a close to Dharawi where he happens to meet Moosa during a row. He later goes on to achieve ,thanks to Moosa Bhai’s help.
The third is a orphan called Abubacker,in Khozikode, who , with the help of Moosa become a ‘Muthalali’. The book has vivid descriptions of the illegal businesses both in Kerala and Mumbai. Moosa helps in the making of two men, both different- one educated in MIT(Bhaskaran) and the other educated by experience in the underworld. The book also moves a lot – Kerala,Chennai,Mumbai, Libya,Middle East ,Nagpur etc.
As I said, the book seemed to have bit too much of the HR angel. This being fiction, every paragraph helps in molding the story and the reader being a person who picks up this book from the best seller stand,is bound be at loss, when he is faced with description of running a business,it catches you out ,when at about 1 0r 2 in the morning between a nice story someone talks about business. Also if it were so simple, then everyone would be a entrepenuer . But maybe that is the cynic in me,rather maybe it is a reaction to the fact that a particular part towards the end , seemed to add a certain degree of reality to it and rob it of the ‘cho cho sweet why can’t this be a feel good movie/ wah wah a fairy tale at last’.
I never like to reveal the story, except maybe the main characters, because my belief is that, reading a detailed review, takes away a bit of the charm of reading a book. I would say, read this book,if you want a something light and feel good(there are a few bits of harsh reality, which seeing other stories now days, would make into a fairy tale anyway) .It also gives you an insight into a few places and ways of living(ya well I guess it is better than travel and living). Though I just criticised the HR part, there are a few messages which have been put in with a bit of euphamism which we all can use, when we deal with people( Okay, I am not know for my patience when dealing with certain type of people,so yes, maybe I should learn). I might be over rating this book, but anyway..
Rating – 8/10. Makes a nice little quick read.
Education and Making sense of it all
February 14, 2009 § 14 Comments
Over the past few weeks ,I have been reading and seeing a lot, both in the main stream media and the blogosphere.
And trying to fit it all and make sense of it all seems pretty tough.
First of all frankly I am disappointed both by the action and the reaction. The actions were strong, the reactions stronger. It did give me satisfaction to see that those who tried to sell the devil’s trap got some knickers on their face. But then thinking again into the root of all this, where did all this start?
Over 60 years have gone since independence, yet such primitive values stick around. We shouldn’t forget that emancipation started with the times of Raja Ram Mohan Roy.Yet after all these years, medieval values still have managed to survive. What is more startling is the amount of people who are ready to take such values and infact go about trying to enforce them.
I had written a post ,saying that these have risen from the society and education is the way. Yet how are going to do it is a good question. From what I have observed, values are not thought, they are acquired.I don’t think I would need to give an illustration for that, just think about it.
Now then what do people who subsribe to such lowly values find attractive in them that they take it? What comfort does morally binding others into their homes get? From past we can take it that this is a threat to very priniciple of lazies faire ,what starts today with what we wear, might tomorrow lead to the idea that money is the root of evil.
At first reading Ayn Rand’s books,I was left with a lot to think. What disturbed me was her discription of human society. The illustration of what can happen to the society with the sacrilegious principles was condescending. For someone who essentially believed that goodness is the “eternal fountain” suddenly seeing a scrummage of parasites against humans was shocking.Surely such a juxtapose is an exaggeration? And there are enough white cells to kill the viruses?
And then it made sense.I just saw the world around. And then the slow build up of events.I looked closer and true enough, there were enough Viruses(no these weren’t parasites, these were viruses) to keep us humans under check. And the fact that man has dominated other creatures seems to be more the reason for these creatures to survive and wear a human skin and breed.More like a Trojan,I would say. They have waited patiently and now they seem to be out in the open breeding and spreading again.
Yet many of us dream of a utopian world. And that made us react.Abeit a aforementioned happiness, something still doesn’t seem right. True enough,it starts as a bud and then blooms into a revolution, but are we watering the right flower?
Let us say ,we do manage to control this out break. Let us say we manage to cure AIDS ,but that doesn’t mean we are free from it just yet.The virus can evolve. Now are we ever going to cull something like that? As you know once the bug enters, you don’t immediately become sick,it wears you down, that is the ultimate aim of it all.How do we know if something is in us,if it doesn’t act? What is society’s blood?
India is her villages,is something we all know. Then there lies our blood? even though there has been an exodus and the agri drain to the cities, our test should lie there. All of us,are comfortable with our cities and our surroundings.Yet this wonder drug will be fought by the creatures, they would still want to eat you(I mean the principles not the people) . Then the only solution is to give this drug to the sick.Development then would be the alive.Yet how can you teach a person who can’t read and write to use a computer?
How can we make a lazy man who is willing to sell himself get a skill and then sell the skill? How can we simply put ,make sure our food isn’t poisoned? Surely their is enough jealousy to make them want to drag us into a negation of ourselves? The very thing they try to do is make us fight against ourselves and destory is from within.I am not talking merely about the villages now,the blood flows and the heart my friend are the cities.
And we are living in the heart. And we are the brains too.So a judicious mix of both can get us out of this.If we do find a wonder drug,we not only need to cure them of the disease but also give them enough support to rise above this negation .Simply put we need to make them realize that for a person who can work, there is a world waiting and that suffering isn’t everything without restrictions there is a world.I know it tough to actually make them realize that they have brains, but then we can make them feel it if we try hard enough.
And to start that,we need to use education as the tool.Prevention is better than cure.If we clean the upstream we don’t need to pick out the waste downstream. If we put this wonder drug called “education” , progress then is possible.
And to conclude my comment on Indyeah’s blog
well when you talk of art and freedom,it is a question of principle….what is happening today is simple, few people are talking us all for a ride…we have the option to kick them out and take the wheel or get down and walk…
I had asked a question,is religion necessary? And I had many varied answers, but the majority are convienced that what we have to day is not necessary and I would agree, we have painted the core values so much that we are afraid to even look at it,but still when ever says it is ugly,we take a stick to them.I think it is time we paint it white before the melee makes it black.
And again ,I leaveyou all with a question to ponder,
” WHAT IS EDUCATION? ”

Peace of sound
February 8, 2009 § 15 Comments
Peace of sound,
Sense of belonging,
A Romanticism within,
A prosperous zenith,
An excess of emotions,
A blur of vision,
Clarity in that disruption.
Animals are born to survive,
Man is born to live,
Earth is a place of haunt
And to create it and lend life, penchant
Of all things alive-
An euphoric sense of divine;
The magic brush which speaks-
Of fantasies and gross truth-
A parade,a tribute,
To the power, which dares not to be mute.
The war within,
The war in the world around,
Faceless and dangerous,
An adventurer within ,
A daredevil about,
The verses of an invention
Hoarse to a few,
Alive and divine to the rest.
In the virgin gaps between the sound,
A belonging-the world is alive,
More so in the silence,
Than the condescending virtue.
In thought there is a superiority,
In life there is an affinity,
A negation to the moment,
An anti to the passion,
A verve to the mundane,
A candour to the bane,
That which seeks home,
When insults are thrown.
The peace of sound,
Shakes and bares the ground.
Releasing those who are bound
Within the pride of human crowd,
They thrall the arbitrary
And lend form and break immunity.
Pecuniary of the universe,
The adage of the moral serf.
And yet they give life,
And beauty they abide,
Within they strike,
The chords and chime the life,
And make humans forget their blight;
And in love,move high,
Towards their aptitude and divinitude.
Peace of sound,
Sense of belonging,
A romanticism within,
A prosperous zenith,
An excess of emotions,
A blur of vision,
Clarity in that disruption.
The light shines the brightest
A metaphor called God
January 19, 2009 § 19 Comments
A blanket above,
A world below,
As dreams fill sleep,
Angles oblique and steep,
Fill grotesque hours with
Inert worth of days, betwixt.
The day scumbs to night,
The hours hang alive,by minutes,
Postulates to the sense of being alive.
Attachments call,to feel,
To be,to sense victory,of something
Which is an image of something greater.
A metaphor called God,
Revives a sense of an all
Engraved hour-into one,
Of an acclaimed need,in a few
Verses,which relight the sight,
To the touch of a greater proportion,
The value of life-the pinnacle of salvation.
To err is human, yet to err is not human.
A cell of nature,an atom of a final being,
Circular waves of creation and destruction,
Flow within, thus making a final preposition-
That balance is within and around,
Freedom senseible and yet bound.
The liberty to move,
The capricious constants,
Which grow and grew,
Thanks to winds of east and west,
Some ultimate zest,a locus at every point,
So cunningly mystic,
that to not dream is drastic.
In the being,a sense lives.
Of what?Of whom? Of where?
Is something which few dare,
To raise and even fewer to chase.
And to one whose moral is low,
How to put across, how to show,
That beyond everything there is a gap,
And that which dares not to show up,
Is the one which we need to find,
For a known foe is better than an unknown fiend.
God,a superlative common,
To all.Yet one which we deem to be stoned
Or ubiquitous yet made to be borne.
But nay,the circumstances,
The thee breaths free-as free
As any human born into the world,
A product of nature and essentially
Of something greater,a wall against to run,
To constantly compare and raise to,
From birth to death through.
The God is of a greatness, which within
We strive to evolve,to push the being,
As God is one,and all is one, termed
Or understood to be God.If not for
Man’s intellect how would a word,
Be thrown about, stud to every language,
Common to everyone alive? how a concept
Be so profound and left to interpret
And yet be starved with glorious neglect
Of a few? From where or when arose
This force or concept such,
That its value be so little yet so lush?
When can a mind,be so alive,
That is sees life? When can pain
Be so alive, that living is a sense?
What worth is this world,
When one dreams? And what of
God,does is it mean?
A mode through which we know?
Or a clear and stark iridescent show?
A spark of light?
Or the setting sigh of a twilight?
What integrity does everything propose
To,that we have a value to set aside
And compare and abide? The way of God?
If so,then a balance and not goodness to all
Can be seen, how can a universe be,
Set to a better tune, when the impact
Is seen as the one to reach and not the
Beauty and vivacity of each string and sound?
Is this a way to be bound? Ignorance
Seems to chaff life of a greater benevolence.
Yet something keeps alive.
Something tells you,you are right.
One in all,
All in one,
Justice, poetic,
Illusions mystic.
Movements,songs,
Verses,Prayers,
Sounds,sight,
visions and thoughts
All within and around a circle,
Yet what tangent should we find,
To take a new path and understand
The nature of light?
If life be a force,
If earth be or not be more than a rock,
What is the master plot?
God,A feeling,a sense,
To be seen within,that which
Prompts and pulls and moves,
The being from within,
That which strives to give
Sense to all.If life was just
A being with thought and sense
And the ability to feel,
God is that which makes
All of it real and a sense of superior,
Which motivates the being to move,
And then search its value.
If God is the truth, then it means
To search it,means an means to an end.
If God be life, then it means a calm
To overcome phases of death.
If God means everything,
Then it is a negation of nothing.
And so God be everything,
That which is everything we know
Moves,which prompts us to move,
So that it too,can grow through
And intend its virtue to a few more,
Of cosmic worlds unknown and unseen.
God is a metaphor,
The name, the forms given to the blur,
Which we all see.
The force which makes us think,
The force that makes us seek.
Instinct and knowledge,
Worlds and Wisdom,
Virtue and venerated.
Without a gap,
Without a constant arising
From all, what curve can be right?
Might and brutish strength,
Achievements through veiled plagues,
Yet justice served is infinite
And so it is poetic.
God at a poet’s heart,
Seems to sketch,something,
Consistent and thoughtful
Yet a play with misery and beauty,
Every tone to its worth.
But what can draw,all this?
Unless one explodes at a point
In time, that which forces a rime,
To be made alive and burst
alive ,forces forced to move,
Gravity of it all,new.
Unseen but felt,
We can value it,relative
To our life and what we sell.
Thus all in all God,
Is that which we be
That which causes and
Is the virtue of causation,
Whose effects infuse a
Sense and make us seek
The beginning as the end,
And again the end,
All the while seeking a tangent
To move to a different sense,
Where in elevation is gained by
Meeting another circle and another
Way out,in and out of life and
Virtual into a mental idea and stride
All the while in a world of real illusions.
The God is a metaphor,
Of superior sight,
Of the innate we abide.
Truth is not the end
But means to an end.
mortality is lost when
sense of reality is found.
Man’s work is to break inability
To achieve it or not destiny.
The light shines the brightest

Thoughts on Terrorism

Enough is Enough! Yes we say this again and again. The inital reaction has now subdued and it is replaced by more sensibile thoughts,by whoever is capable of such.
First before I get into the whole saga and try to put my sagacity to some use,let me first salute, those Men who gave their lives for saving many other. While we can be skeptic and claim that they were just doing their duty, that in it self is something great.I am not so sure,I would have sacrifised my life for the sake of others.Hemanth Karkare, was under pressure and received SMS threats ,but still he went in and fought the terrorists, even while his intergrity was questioned. Sandeep Unnikrishnan and Havaldar Gajendra Singh and the other police and special forces officers and the staff of the hotel who helped save people also died fighting the scoundrels and they are the heroes of today. For a nation, which is so politically and religiously complicated,we all salute these men, without whom terror might have ceased the economy.
And ask me to name these people a week or a month from today,i don’t i will remember. That is always the problem,we all say so much, all of us blame and point fingers, yet we all forget. After all immaterial of whether we are from the mango selling class or the Taj class ,we have our business to do.We will be bothered about terror and the ugly reality of human goodness not being a whole some reality only when our own valued lives are threated. There is nothing wrong with that too.
In a way, this is our defence mechanism.Yet this attack will be remembered by us,for such action is not blase ,this is fresh and it has hit,the rich, the people who make India. The media which usually is more bothered about an actress sneezing or if an actor is wearing a pink shirt or concentrating on cricketers for a change had some real NEWS.At last the NEWS channel had their use, albeit, all of them showing the same thing.Popular NEWS anchors were rushed in and even NISHA(for those ignorant people,it is the name of the cyclone which cycled over Tamil Nadu) was forgotten with the rest of the celebrities as operation Cyclone went on.
We all were agape at the site of the Taj hotel burning.”A thing of beauty is a joy forever” and yet such beauty was smeared with such sinister force that you wonder “is this reailty?”.Even as rain swalloed our streets here in Chennai,we all watched the vice humans and the various forces battle it out. After all Mumbai is the financial capital of India. For a moment all of us forgot the communal divide which someone was trying to enforce upon us.We all watched as an intergrated force, fought the terrorists who had come here to die and blow up an icon of India. As smoke and fire spread through the Taj and the internal structure was vanadalized we were taken by an eerie thought-is this what happens to the Business India?
The battle has ceased to be religious,it is now the developed and modern against the retarded and mideval minds who want to own our world. At the same time, the terrorists who died are not the devil himself. They were mere pawns in the game, who were comanded and sacrifised by a much larger force.
By attacking an icon and entering through the gateway of India, those unscrupulous beings have mocked the nation. And our soveregnity was preserved and shall be.For once, the politicians have not been able to play their games. For once we question them and for once they are answerable to us.
And as more and more clues regarding the affiliation of the terrorists to various international orgainzations are found, what are going to do? Since the media has branded this as India’s 9/11,are we going to go out and blow another nation? Of course that is not going to help, this attack has proven that.Cutting a branch is only going to help the tree grow better. What we need to do,is cut the tree at its base and then make sure we utilize it properly.
What we are facing ,are groups who are ready to die.And fear is their weapon. If an other nation has an hand in this, then it time to end this for once and all,but then at what cost?
First let us see the face of the enemy and not fight something which has no proper form.We need to get the people who are behind these attacks and make them responsible for all this. They should be made to work and manually replace every inch of a building. They should be made to understand how much it takes to build those buildings. These people are no idiots of of course, they know what they are doing.
They should have a cause,so to them let us say ,we want to hear what is their cause. But no cause is so great that you should kill so many people. This is not a question of fighting fire with fire.In the end we shall all be burnt in our own, which these people anyway are willing to do.
We have to respond though, but how?The problem is there is no thrid persons view here.We are all in it.We need to think from outside.
We need to make those cowards come out and fight face to face and take responsbility, that is of course if anything human is left in them.Whatever happens, weeds will always be there in a garden. But among humans, the difference between a weed and a useful plant is how a person’s mind is lead.So let us make sure we do not give space for more terrorists to be born. And to those existing-lantena is a weed, but it is still grow as a ornomental flowers. But if these are not humans but only useless weeds, sorry its time to cull.
Chennai and Mumbai-rains and terror
November 27, 2008 § 17 Comments
As Mumbai faces its first terror attack,Chennai is washed out thanks to torrential rainfall.
Coast to coast the country faces problems,as stock markets and schools are closed.
Chennai:-The state capital and the rest of the state face cyclone “NISHA”.You can see the Satellite picture here.

The city faces such rain after many many years. And my exams are postponed. While I can happy about not having any exams more than 50 have died and many lives have been affected.Food packets have been dropped from helicopters in Cuddalore. Most of the major roads in the city are flooded.

Terror in Mumbai:-
The whole world watches as two of Mumbai’s most famous hotels have been taken over by terrorists and many people inculding forigners have been held as hostage. You can read more about it, here.
Blogosphere too has had many posts here are a few :-

My view:-
So as in front of comp, more and more people are suffering thanks to cyclonic fury and terrorists bullets. Now in what why does this affect me? As a human being,I wonder how people can so kill others so frivolously.Who are these people and what do they want, are the questions which everyone is asking. The premeditated, planned and till now executed properly executed attacks has shocked the whole world.Symbolically terror has now entered India, through the Gateway that the British exited. While we cannot do anything about storms and rainfall,we can do a lot about terrorism.
While a lot of people can be held responsible for not spotting the threat and our “intelligence” not being clever enough can be zeroed on,it is time to question who is at the base of all this.Is it because something went wrong with their lives that these people allowed themselves to be brain washed?
Or is their condition so desperate that they need to blow up and destroy to save themselves?
Whatever are the reasons ,we will soon know, but one thing we do need to do is make sure that as a society we stick together and make sure we are heard. This is a complete mockery of whatever little is left of democracy. It is very easy to just write and talk, but we do need to do something about this.Maybe we can snap these terrorists at their roots,if we make sure there is no need for them to take to such activities.
That of course is possible if and only if,there are no religious motives. For if religion is involved, there can be no concrete solution-who can stop the waring Gods? As it is obvious that religion has a hand in all this,we need to reduce this to a level where religion is excused and for once, these people are made responsible for what they did ,where their affiliation to a religion is not a mask for them to hide behind.
Enough is Enough,so let us make it clear. If you do not believe in violence,be ready to say so and if it takes us to do something about all this, let us do-it takes more to be calm than violent.Let us not play their game their way and panic and hurt and destory.Nor at the same time we should cuddle up in fear. And if any terrorist is reading this- Why do you do that?
