The Fountainhead-Ayn Rand

A master piece.
A book which is profound and well amazing! What is your value as an individual? Howard Roark is an architect, for whom architecture is everything.Creation is the hightest virtue of mankind. Those who scumb creation and consider it the property of everyone except the creator, are second handers ,the parasites. And Roark has to face them all,the great ‘society’ against a single man.Goodness, will always remain in those, who believe in it and in themselves and whatever the cost maybe, their is more joy in sticking to what you believe than in giving up and accpeting the tag of ” nobody”.
That love is reverence and worship and glory and the upward glance. Not a bandage for dirty sores. But they don’t know it.Those who speak of love most promiscuously are the ones who’ve never felt it.They make some sort of feeble stew out of sympathy, compassion, contempt and general indifference and they call it love.Once you’ve felt what it means to love as you and I know it-the total passion for the total height-you’re incapable of anything else
One can’t love man without hating most of the creatures who pretend to bear his name. It’s one or the other. One doesn’t love God and sacrilege impartially.Except when one doesn’t know that sacrilege has been commited.Because one doesn’t know God.
The book is one of the best if not the best i have read till date. The book makes you realize that humanity will always have the two classes, those who create and those who eat the creation and the creator. It shows you that belief in yourself is more important belief in anything else.Life is what we make out of it.
The egoist in absolute sense is not the man who sacrifies others. He is the man who stands above the need of using others in any manner. He does not function through them.He is not concerned with them in any primary matter. Not in his aim,not in his motive, not in his thinking, not in his desires, not in the source of his energy.he does not exist for any other man-and he asks no other man to exist for him. This is the only form of brotherhood and mutual respect possible between men
The book gave me the confidence that I am right.Thinking is the way to live and for us to survive we need to think. The book showed me that the path is the same for everyone, when one desires to achieve something, there is always the society, one which doesn’t have a particular source, except within each and everyone of us.There maybe a lot of parasites but our aim is to create. The parasites can feed on and on,yet they can never drain out the energy of those who are born to create.
man cannot survive except through his mind.He comes on earth unarmed. His brain is his only weapon.
I love this book, for all that it says. And the truth is that we all here for a purpose and that purpose,is the goal of the self.It is not the goal of the masses we are here to fulfill but THE GOAL- to do what we want to do the most.If you haven’t read this book, read it.And think while you read.

I exist because I think.

Well well, the world is going to end sooner than 2012,it seems! Wow,i am waiting for it! What with a letter on Nikhil’s blog and so many people writing about how the world is at panic, that a few scientists are going to perform an experiment.Well i am looking forward to it.Hope they find how the universe came into being, they will deserve it,for they have put in a lot of effort. We all are so bothered about dieing suddenly aren’t we? Why aren’t we the creatures who don’t give a damn about our fellow creatures on earth and treat them however we wish?We go even as far the trade them, across nations,we pack them and deprive them or their rightful freedom. Why talk of other creatures, when we kill our own race,in the name of religion and the usual stuff?
I haven’t bother watching the news in a while( i saw Kalam’s interview last ,on Sunday night. It was about the N-deal) .So it was all started by some stupid channel, which had exhausted its ability to find things which people really have to bother about.Has anyone considered the fact, that these guys have brains and they know how to make sure it is safe? One thing i hope is that, they publish the results and use it strictly for experimentation alone.Whatever happens they should never give to the monkeys ,who know nothing except to throw thing on each other.
CERN has assured the world that it is all safe. It is pretty amazing, that we humans have evolved so much( yes, well i need to call these people aliens among humanity, but well after all, these people are humans, and the others something else) .What once seemed impossible is possible now.As the weirdest among the aliens(Einstein, firefox corrects me,i still can’t spell his name correctly!) said
“Imagination is more important than knowledge.”
And i agree with him complete. It takes hell a lot of effort to cramp the universe into the small box.As we move along we face more new questions and problems and are left to ponder these,to arrive at more and more questions and problems. But well, we are the species which are supposed to think and use our brains for survival. The problem is that, there are too many monkeys and apes still running about with cloths and ostrich( no i misspelled this too!) brain claiming arbitrary things and destroying our world. But humans have always survived, after all
It took 380,000 years for the electrons to be trapped in orbits around nuclei, forming the first atoms.
Well to finish up things, here is another graffiti or scribbling or whatever you want to call it.

This book surely has influenced me.Undiluted and straight forward,it makes you think about so many things. Why feel guilty about your virtues? Why should we give something to someone who doesn’t deserve it?What is the value of money? IS need important or ability?
“Evil is impotent and has no power but that which we let it extort from us.”
“Rationality is the recognition of the fact that nothing can alter the truth and nothing can take precedence over that act of perceiving it.”
The book is about a man who decided to stop the world.Through out history, people of ability have been the ones to be discriminated and been made to feel guilty about ,so the book tried to show where we will be if the “mind” goes on strike.
It is a splendid book.Every word, makes sense and shows us,what we all already know.It shows why we need to have freedom to produce and own things. It also shows you the real value of money. It also shows that there in no contradiction. We need to work for what we need,is the message, here. We cannot live on others and be supported.
What is ours is ours.No one has the right to take away that from us.And love can be shown when we have something to show it to.
There is so much in the book, that it would take posts and posts to tell everything.I know a few of you have read the book, others get it now! It is a big book, alright, but it is worth it! But be ready to think and feel a few of your principles being put to the test of fire,Don’t shrug it away! I will give it a 1000/100 🙂
Ayn Rand,in my new favorite! She has an amazing way to hold you and affect you so much.It is as good a test as a staring match!
P.S: I took those quotes from Divkiran’s blog. There are a few more points which i wanted to write about, but i was already more than a month over due,so had to return the book .Will be getting my own copy soon i think ,though 🙂

Questions and questioning
July 30, 2008 § 12 Comments
questions….questions and more questions…How do we ask so many questions?
Asking Questions is really really easy, isn’t it? Yet it is an art to ask them. You first of need to understand what is either going or not going on first. Why do i say what is going or what not is going on?
When Asking a question in class, you can do it only if you either understand the subject or if you have no clue what is going on(e.g,why sir,is 1*1=1?)Similarly when you are outside you ask questions to people, like what is happening, why is this happening, etc.
So why do we question anyway? We question so that we get to know something more.Simple isn’t it?Yet we human have come up with really weird questions and managed to answer a few of them too.
It isn’t normal for a person to question when something which has always being happening happens. For eg,an apple falling from a tree. What led to one person thinking about it differently? What made him question why it falls and not the moon? So what we need to notice is what he questioned and the way he questioned it.He could have asked why is it falling, answered himself with the age old answer, cause it is supposed too.Well more than me saying ,a quote would help here,so here it is:
“To raise new questions, new possibilities, to regard old problems from a new angle, requires creative imagination and marks real advance in science.”
-Albert Einstein
and another one from him,
“We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.”
I have written about questioning many times before, but the reason why i am writing again is because i want to see what I think about questioning now. There are times in school, when my friends make fun of me for asking questions. If they want to stop the class, they turn to me and ask me to ask questions. It always makes me wonder how come people can never come with questions.Of course it is not that they are not capable nor am i trying to ridicule them ,but how is it that It is easy for a few to ask questions, while others never have questions?
Questioning is an art.The only ones who can question are the ones who are brave. You need to brave to ask the questions. The answers never come to you like a lighting flash.Once you have asked the question you need to try and understand what is it you want to know. You need to search for the door, which will take you to the answer. Now it is important not to get over whelmed by the question. You need to sleep over it(or well do something else with it) so that the question or problem isn’t as big as it seems. The main problem is that we are all used to seeing things the way they are,so we first need to let our mind see it the way it wants to.To do this,we need to register what we see in our subconscious mind, not that we don’t normally do it,it is always happening,we just need to realize that it is happening.Once your sub has got it,you just need to forget about the problem and let the sub deal with it.When we think on our own,we think about a given problem with our limited knowledge, but our sub has more knowledge,so it is capable of getting things done.Once it is done,it will ping you.
So what happens when you have asked the right question and let your sub on it? Well the answer is simple, more questions.Sometimes questions keep on coming. But that is the beauty of it.As you solve one question another pops up.Maybe it is because we use a very little part of our brain.
Anyway,I will leave you all with a few questions to ponder…
What/who is god? Don’t you think, that it can be a creation of our mind?I.e. a huge illusion, which was conceived by one person and became so popular that everyone fell under it?What do you think might be reality? How have we humans managed to think? Why are we what we are- a thoughtful race(as we think)? What is the universe doing? What are you doing? Why are you here? What are you supposed to be doing?Who are you?what are you?why should we study? How were people a 100 years back?
solutions are created before problems.
What do you think?
quotes from here.
about me ,thinking and questioning
July 2, 2008 § 10 Comments
I am what i am.That is it.Do i think too much? Well i don’t know,but if i didn’t think,then i will not be me.It isn’t supposed to be two posts about me,i wasn’t planning this,but then it struck me that i need to clarify a few things.
A lot of you ask me,am i really 16? It is easier to laugh this one out.I wonder why people think i am not 16 .The reason might be that i think differently. Now i wonder why i think differently. The fact that i think differently from the majority of people in my age group is tough to accept. To me,there is nothing strange in asking questions, questioning is life.
The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day. Never lose a holy curiosity.-Albert Einstein (1879 – 1955)
Questions, questions and more questions exist in this world. As Einstein says, there is no limit to asking questions.I ask myself why do i question? And the replies i get are infinite, for my mind can think without rest.I try to let my mind think all its want.I like dreams,i like the impossible ,i like fantasies to say the least.
So why should I come back to this so called “reality” of yours? I am pretty comfortable with where I am.If you want come with me and i will show you the way i think, but it isn’t easy for me to accept what you think.I love to watch clouds.I love the silence of night.I love to dream. And most of all ,i love it when my brain and heart churn out answers.it must be the greatest feeling to get answers, but then all answers lead to more questions and so think more.
Look at all the sentences which seem true and question them.
David Reisman
Now i haven’t progressed much here.I am still caught up.I am still trying to think out if i should be writing this.As i said i am very happy in the world i live. When someone says a no to something,i believe it can mean a yes.i believe that i can find solutions to the perennial problems of humanity, for i can think.yet thinking does lead to dead ends. Those are the times when you are left desperate, that is when you press your mind to think harder and you wish and think that you can think that one out.
Judge of a man by his questions rather than by his answers.
Voltaire (1694 – 1778)
this is one of the most truest sayings. And so i shall end this with a few questions:
why all this?
why life?
why god?
what for?
why live?
why die?
why think?
why not think?
why hurt?
why love?
why a end?
why a beginning?
why a nation?
why humiliation?
why hunger?
why poverty?
why education?
why earth?
why universe?
why big bang?
why creation?
why everything?
and here is what i think about everything
