Thinking aloud

February 14, 2011 § 4 Comments

Congratulations to Egypt and her people. To stand up without ammunitions, with only peace, hope and belief as their weapons, they have achieved something which many of us had written off as impossible.

Like rest of the world, I am just another sympathizer. Fair enough, because it did not happen close to my home or in my country. But when people tweet and retweet, when they post updates on facebook and write about in their blogs, I wonder, why don’t we have the guts to stand up.

Each and every day, I come across stories of horror fueled by corruption and spread by a supposed invincibility. We all know. Most of us dismiss as ‘normal’ and conclude ‘what can I do’. But when people can say things on twitter, when many Indians can waste time on facebook liking pages about TV shows and trying to become tycoons and millionaire farmers, why can’t we stand up? Why can’t we make the buffoons realize that we will not tolerate it.

I am not talking about the poor. I am not talking about those people, who we think do not exist. I am talking about you and me, who are ready enough to bribe a police man when caught, who are ready enough to curse the same police man and at the same time sympathize with him. I am talking about us hypocrites.

We live in a pseudo-democracy. We are in times when newspapers are willing to accept money for publishing articles, when news channels no more report but propagate, when you no more know what is reality.

All of us,know about a particular man who was behind the whole Commonwealth games and what he did. We tweeted, we created facebook pages, but why weren’t we able to do anything about it? Because we accepted it as right. Right of that class of this country to steal and do whatever they want. We are sadly, happy enough to sit in our A/C rooms and cabins and let things pass. We are couch/recliner rebels. We dare not do anything about it- for our rights begin and end with being able to talk about something.

We are expected to believe that one man can steal unbelievable amounts of money. We are willing to let ourselves be divided in every way possible, without doing anything about it. We are willing to accept that it is alright for traffic to be blocked for hours for one person to go.

A certain Sen, can be put behind bars, without 99% of the country having heard about the case. And the media shall show you an actor’s wedding even when there are floods or droughts in another part of the country.

We are in a free country. But every choice has a cost- the cost of choosing to stand up for our rights is increasing even as we brush aside everything as ‘normal’ and go on with it. We cannot support our neighbours when they are pressured by certain people, we cannot fight for those people whose lands are stolen, we cannot even be without paying for a college seat.

It is depressing to think about these things. The choices we have are- a) take the ‘wheel of the bus , b) get out of the bus , c) show support to someone who is willing to take the ‘wheel. Most of us can’t drive a two-wheeler properly, so let alone a bus. We cannot get out of the bus, simply because we are in the middle of a jungle and do not know where to go. But if someone is willing to take the ‘wheel, why don’t you show support?

We do need someone to take the ‘wheel. Unfortunately, to appeal to the masses, to garner support from the educated Indians who work in big offices, you need a lot more than them merely having faced the blunt of the various negative forces. They are like fishes, who refuse to believe that a bigger pond is just a jump away today. Tomorrow our pond is going to become so small, that we are going to die here.

To the usual readers of this blog, these things I say are nothing new. I ask myself what have I done? Nothing. I am just another 19-year-old who refuses to grow up – I still believe in those good things which people said when I was a kid. I wish I can do something. But I have come to realize that that something should be big enough to not fall. It will be hard work, to build this force, brick by brick, but I am willing to do it. What is in my head, stays in my head, till then.

The above might be just to convince myself that I am not turning a blind eye to the things that bother me, but I am hoping that isn’t the case. Youth Unite was an experience. I saw how people react when posed with even a simple thing like writing about what they think on various issues. I will continue to have hope and believe in what I believe.

End of rant. Thank you for reading.

English is dead

June 26, 2009 § 16 Comments

So MJ is dead . The whole world is moaning for the “king of pop” .

Wait a second , a few hours back , the entire world was talking about Iran and whatever was happening over there . Indian news channels were telecasting “shootout at Lalgarh ” . As they say people’s memory is short – maybe too short , they seem to forget everything the second they read the obituary .

But something which will surely be dissected in the next few days would be the removal of the tenth standard board exams . My personal opinion – good riddance . But one thing that shouldn’t happen is Quota’s in school – that will kill any sort of unity in the country ( as far as I am aware , school is the place where the discrimination isn’t seen and the kids sing the national anthem with gusto and pride). All those who claim that these exams prepare kids for the big bad bad world are in my view are either “tuition” teachers or want their 15 minutes of fame . I have written the exam and it has in no way prepared me for the big bad bad world .

One thing that would happen is that the tuition(private coaching) centers and teachers might run out of business . Now at last kids(from certain schools) might see something called a sports field ( in my school we were allowed to play and even go for cultural events in 12th 🙂 ) and not be told that – “playing is not going to get you marks” , “if you are so good at football go and join a sports school”(cricket is accepted , it means the very teacher who says these things can come on national television and praise the kid and the school etc) .

but as I said the dreaded reservations should not be enforced here as well , it would spoil and corrupt the integrity of our ” unified nation ” . On unity , the C.M. of Meghalaya claims that he has been “racially discriminated” in India . Well my friends and family who live in North tell me that all South Indians are called “Madrasis” , so I don’t get it why he should feel hurt if we were to mistake people from his state for a person from some other state . But well no ever seems to appreciate being an Indian . Everyone is so so bothered about the dieing identity of their community that no one cares about the “Indian” .

Its been a while since I right clicked so many times on a word to correct my spelling , this can be attributed to the fact that no ones seems to be able to “talk in English” – the reason for it being in quotes is because you might soon see me writing in tamil over here( all the best for deciphering what I am coming to say , what with my wonderful spellings et al. ) . And when a few try to speak in English , my ears ( tuned to the tortured English in my school) can’t handle a language being murdered . No I am not some sort of “peteru”(read fellow who is yaxpart yat it) in English or something , but when I join an institution which claims that its vernacular English , I expect at least some good English to be spoken some where .

As my Sanskrit master said with valor and tenacity and rather biosteriously ” English in dead ” . Someone heal the world .

The bakers

June 21, 2009 § 9 Comments

Once upon a time long , long ago ,
There was a baker who was known
For her bakes – which would melt
And disappear down throats
As fast as yeast could grow .

And as she grew old ,
She told her children the recipes
All made fine and woven ,
Created during many hours under the oven .
They all did hear her out –
Some more dexterous at the gateau ,
Others better at just making the right dough .

Yet there were a few ,
Who though heard all that the others knew ,
Who couldn’t spread butter on bread ,
Who were all fed to a starved death .

On one fine day , as the sun rose ,
The children were all on their own .
And so with there skills all set and perfect ,
The walked through the countries parks
And chose their shops ,
To spread love through their bakes .
A few boisterous mixed their flour
And added their eggs and yeast ,
Gave the world numerous feasts .

They took understudies to whom the taught
The skills , even as their coffers never stood still .
But those who could bake none ,
Lost their homes and had to run
From those they borrowed
And those they caused many a bad turn .

A few of such , idled about
(And that too all wrong )
And then the day came ,
When it was time to split
The estate of the one who was long gone .

With pens filled with liquor madness ,
They claimed that their siblings were unjust .
The harangued that their misfortunes
Were because the others were too good!
Pity , oh! pity the others felt ,
They thought that , at least their brothers’ kids
Would be better! So with their hearts
Filled with love , they wrote a decree,
Saying that the house shall be
Made of so much from the unfortunate’s
family , only so that they learn
And some day on their own earn .

Soon time’s ropes petered on those
And they left their bakery to their kin .
The kin inherited the dough
And so their demand never saw a trough .
All the while , the unskilled’s kids
Grew fatter under the provision
Provided and seeing success
Grew avaricious and claimed
That all this was through their pain!

A fight ensued and those successful
refused . They pointed out that
The bums had refused to learn
And that money cannot be earned
Without skill or working under the oven .
In a rage , the law book was brought out
And soon by popular vote , amended –
So that the unskilled got the majority’s share-
The rest just had to bare
These fat pigs who no more fitted
Into their own chairs!

In anger a few left ,
Others held that soon shall all be right ,
That under someone they will , together fight .
Soon that wonderful fresh bread smell grew ,
Longer became the queue.
The money came in and yet those
Who made them with honesty ,
Love and diligence ,
Lost their voice in the parliament!

One day a huge cake was made
It was for a festival’s sake .
The majority drunk in their inactivity
Got a big knife and cut in
For themselves and their kin .
And soon the pieces were
So many, Nothing was left
For the bakers
The actual makers .

For a while , they tried to reason
With their comrades and then
Realized with aghast
That lost was their cause!
Infuriated and cheated ,
They set out with bag and baggage ,
Landed in a better place
And baked a larger cake and ate
With grace , voraciously , singing
Praise to the new beginning .

Soon the old place ,
Ran out of money and food ,
Bickering , the people
First killed their kin ,
Then pealed their own skin
And finally lost everything !

A few survived , something
By nature , by blood had survived
Innate in them and in desperation something
Had come alive . The new of an old kind ,
Wanted to restore the past glory –
Though their memory was pretty foggy
With all that passed on being glossy .

One day , they called a baker home
And befriended him . They promised
To work together and to restore
Their pride . So the newly formed pride
Set about , the dough was bought
And the yeast all ready to dwell ,
But just before the first day’s bake ,
Someone found out the old constitution
And called the baker a traitor ,
Oh! he was no friend –
In vengeance into the oven
Went the baker
And baked forever was the bakery !

Pity , majority , democracy , atrocity
Ultimately a big big hypocrisy –
For that you eat , you gluttons
call God , yet the “makers
Are traitors” – so you say ,
Someday , someday ,not so far away ,
You will loose your way
And then wonder whose mistake it was .

You would then say ,
It was the man who decided to bake ,
Forgetting that , that was what made
You a big fat swine , Or maybe
You are right , you deserve less ,
Maybe a whip is a better harness!

The memories of the bakery
Were long after found –
After the bakers cult was tainted
And then erased to the ground .
The invading forces were butchers
And hogs were their specialty –
Enjoyed by the whole of (remaining) humanity!

A comment

April 10, 2009 § 6 Comments

I have been off politics and anything to do with it for a while .Simple because I can afford a shoe right now and maybe afford to even throw it (things look like a luxury only till you can’t afford them) .But still there are a few posts which draw you to read on(very very few bloggers have that ability) and so this post.  The reason for me not eating anything political is because I have had  too much of masala –  by nature my teeth are sweet(no they are not made of candy or gold :P){and get it I am making fun of things [people now days!]} so just don’t want to trouble my senses.

As I mentioned there are a few who just draw you into reading and this particular post is a very good read especially for a fellow who loves history ( how much do I love it? Enough to ask doubts in a history class) .

Here is the post – Pseudo Secularism and Congress. And this was my comment to it:-

I do not know. Simple right? But what you and me say doesn’t matter…you see kids are thought to say all Indians are my brothers and sisters…then where does it go wrong? It doesn’t matter who are the people we keep pointing fingers at ,for they will keep coming . By doing that we are not identifying Mr.Satan himself but only lending a face to him and once we burn/he burns us at a stake,we just go back to where ever for a while, nodding our heads as if its all done . I have repeated it over and over , the biggest mistake in this country is that the people with quality have now been discriminated and the country handed over to people ___________ .

And the old bus thing too . You and me write just to appease ourselves . No more and no less. Why don’t people like you or me take to being the Hero? is that we can’t ? No, we know the way people behave. I was sent out of class today ,when I hadn’t done anything wrong .The fellow in question was just yappin yappin without give us time to think , I stopped tried to think and then when I missed what he was saying looked into my neighbour’s book and he sent us out. But thats the gist of what is happening , if you try to think , they send you out.We have to learn and go on…for it is about us and not them…

Of course to a few , my comment may seem from another world and not  looking at the reality . All I can say is , I haven’t seen that reality and so I cannot talk about that . The place where I live is relatively peaceful for the people here have better things to do ( Or at least I hope so) . To actually think of people killing each other in the name of religion , I can’t . But I have seen instances where it is the audacity of a few people which leads to some tension building up . One thing I hope I always would remember would be that

arrogant are those who are ignorant
Tenacious are those who are diligent .

Anyway I don’t think I will be posting about politics as such , even though it seems to be everywhere. I personally think that there isn’t much use talking too much, we need to get into doing . Someone ,pointed out to me that changes are always happening . True. While we cannot change things but are mere catalysts , we need to remember to play our part properly . By looking at each other , no one is going to take the onus .

The “bus thing” which I mentioned above is this :-

The country is a bus and a person whom we all feel is not a good driver is driving . We have two options one to get out of the bus or take over the wheels . So in a way I have decided to get out of the bus for a while , so I am going to shut up and not talk about it . Without full information we cannot judge what is happening . We are but seeing those things which a few people want us to see and hear what a few people want us to hear . We need to dig deep and try to evaluate after we know enough .

To sum it up , religion was started for something and now is being used for something else . Personally I take God to be a metaphor(read this poem – a metaphor called God and this one too – God ) so I cannot understand why people should fight so much . We are on Earth to live and not survive .Using that thing up there , we have created a world for ourselves ,why instead of enjoying do we bicker and try to make it all worse for each other?

Hullaballoo in the country

March 22, 2009 § 14 Comments

We love our country and there can be no doubt about our nationalism , in fact in the concrete jungle you and me live in,we love it so much, that all we do is take those vagabonds of democracy as a daily factor. Why wouldn’t it be? After all we are more bothered about “soft-ware”  and our OS,but when a Virus does infect we might realize it is time to get a good anti-virus.Anyway these are the things which had their two paise of thought-value, i.e. which caused the proponent , paradigm persuader in me to surface during my exams.

-I can vouch for my city. Those on two wheels have no sense. In a jam packed traffic jam,you can find these heroes “fly” much like their namesakes in ads and block the opposite lanes ; Maybe their logic is based on the sumptuous ideology of “equality” which very few people understand anyway. Oh! and to add to that, how about this, they try to ape the anorexic curves of their revered feminine leads by meandering around cars and buses, causing the drivers of those  to brake over and over again,hmm..how will the traffic move? You know all it takes to get your lisence,is five hundred rupees.

And I should add ,they don’t have any respect for such things as  “one ways” , ” no U turns” etc etc.And our famous Auto drivers, well they are from another planet, Chennai is not complete without them and their “Madras Tamil”.

So I started of with something not important at all. And you can’t blame me.There is so much happening around, that you fail to realize that this is one country.

-In a porous and beguile corner of the country, a politican  went about haranguing his affiliation to 80% of the population. And with all sincere sinistral anti-secular chauvinism he raved about the power at his disposal. He is standing for elections you see and the likes of Hitler came to power after such critical acclimation isn’t it?  He is a victim according to his own palpable pride ,whether he is  or not, the election commission cannot do anything about it,they can’t ban him, even he was, what would be the difference? Remember the ban on smoking?

-Apparently we live in a country, where seats are fought for. A political music chairs ensued and every party and every member wants a chair, they all are running literally, fueled by the Omnipresent media and their bulletin tunes . Personally I would like to see Congress in power, mainly because the “others” seem to be too…,too….well fill it up. And well a politician should be a called a politician.

-And talking about election the nation is all jagoore and 49-O . No I am not trying to say don’t use it,but you are using it to what purpose? Who cares about your vote? Come on ,you have a television set, they have IPL for you, live from England or SA ,go watch that,a convenient agreement.

From photoshopped

-Yup they call it the Indian Premier League. And rightly so,we send it to the isle this year, the isle from where it came. The sad thing of course is that, they would be competing with football.I know a few who are members of fan clubs ,now there goes your money,go fight like those people on MTV shows for your money back. And I don’t like cricket anyway. Taking in the fact that the football season is at its tail end, people would care more about their football teams than the cricket ones ( Arsenal shall win the FA and the champions league I tell you!)

-There was a spectacle over a pair of old spectacles. Apparently that particular pair will cure all addicts of their alcoholism and proliferate down to the prop-a-ganged masses and make the cities all clean and white. I think they would erect the statue of the father of communal-ism here(who ever he is) and also the patron of corruption, surely we are sinners if we don’t?

There is of course a lot more, when I say lot, hell of a lot more. But then NEWS now days,is really fast that, even terrorists are finding to get their full fifteen minutes of fame. And all this makes me wonder, what is this reality? I maybe an Idealist(my next post is about that) but I am sure who knows the reality. This person seems to be( do read the blog, amazing stuff).

We of course had the horrorscope and the stamp scam stamped away. An update on something more closer to home,YU! has woken up at last ,do participate.

And now I will go back to questioning myself about my blog’s ever depreciating authority,if only this was a Vols it would ” depreciation for now,Appreciation forever”(or something like that,I like that ad).

P.S: Thankfully I used the spell check. It seems in the past two weeks,my spellings have taken a new induction to the retro me.

P.P.S:- This is my attempt to improve i.e., keep it short and be more gracious in using punch-u-nations.

Sambar magic(the tale of thondiraja)-part 6!(spoof)

February 7, 2009 § 10 Comments

read part 5 here.

And the computer crashed! The king got irritated and was about to blow up,but something struck him!He looked beyond that which is seen-The OS was vista and yes it lived up to its name! If you want something search it out! Such divine revelation! Maybe that is why he opened the gates and ran out and made lots of bills! Ha and so the king set about preparing the trip.

But before any packing,he needed to eat.He took out his mobile and called the wonderful home minsiter. The minister barked into the phone,

” And yes we are facing problems! But law wasn’t written in a day! It took more than two years to write, word by word, issue by issue, problem by problem! Just read the fine print! You guys missed out the star! –Conditions apply!”

The king took in a couple of deep breaths and in a icy voice replied,

“My fine sir! If only life can be made fair,by using a fairness cream! Now this is your king here.I do appreciate your preparations for the world human rights day summit, but if you want to hold on to your stars, better get into that ferrari of yours and be here and if you don’t I will have that head of yours and that branded spectacles chopped like interest rates!”

And the minister in a mocking tone replied,

” Oh! Sire, but pardon me! I shall be there! I was preparing for the call in programme, evidently they want human rights unplugged! In fact they are giving world leaders free calls! Its about tigers you see and men with beards, you see! I shall be there!”

And the phone went dead.Ha but the king forgot to tell him to bring him food! He dialed again-

“All lines are currently busy, please dial later!”

“Oh! by my great thondi!” The thondiraja blew,”what is this! ”

And the power went out.Even as the generators were switched on,the king’s face turned white! But just as a major explotion was about to take place as if someone was testing nuclear weapons under the bed of a ill leader, the home minister ran home! The pace at which he did run,was amazing! If the olympic sprinters were to run without steriods then this would be it!

The miniter went on his knees and apologised! There can be no doubt, this was true culture! This cooled the king, like a beer from a bar in Mad-lur!

“Chiao! Cheeks ! Thats polite ! I am pleased, but now get up,If you want to get married,go to Mad-lur or Bad-lur and sit in a park on fourteenth of this month with a girl! Cheap and easy! the media will also be there! I will gift you a saffron colour ice cream!  My such social service! And oh! Remember to wear the Levi jeans and the miss…who ever it is,that pink,Venus’ short shirts! ”

beliwered the minister answered

” But I am already a married man! ”

” Then get up and get me something to eat! I shall be going for a hike! So I will not be here for a while! Now remember to check the date on all invitations for thondi idol! Oh! And please avoid bad translation! I don’t want people to think this is any other show! IT IS THE IDOL show! Why even Jackson wants to take part! Too bad he isn’t a citizen of Thondi! And don’t forget to forget sending an invitation to Himesh! Let him stay there and sing for the queen! And remember to create some problem or the other everyday or I will be penalized by the news channels and remember to check that the proper diet is served for the children of thondi! ”

And the king took a breath but before he could resume, the minister ran, now more like a sprinter on steriods to fetch the food! He had never heard the king so unhumourous! If only it was the economy ,he could bail it out!

The king now left alone,he tried to on the comp,he pressed and pressed it,nothing happened….until in rage he kicked it,with the Ronaldo technique! And boom! He was suddenly in the Sambar world! But at a different place…Now wait a minute it seemed to make some sense..

“SMSes are short,

MNS is a blot,

Businesses are caught,

Seats are bought,

Time for a simple thought,

You voice shall play a part,

But better think twice, before you tie the knot.”

But his voice,he was no sage with a mouth in his foot! He didn’t SMS anyone did he, he took out his mobile again and to his surprise he found that he had a message in his inbox,

“This V day free massage for you and your other half at 50% discount! Hurry limited offer!”

“Ha pity, will this lead to him finding his better half! Ha this Sambar,it is crazy! Like a croc in a T.V. ad   ! Now he needed to find a blot. But he realzied that million dollar pens don’t blot nor does anyone in the state of Thondi own a decent leaky parker! The poorest man was..poor? That was never heard of in thondi, where will he get this pen!”

He thought and began to take a stroll…His sudddenly turned around and saw a dog following him.No this was not  a gift from his mobile network to follow him everywhere! This was no  voota-phone(voota -borken) ,something caught his attention,he started closing in on the dog.The Dog seeing such a huge figure coming close to it,turned and began to run!

The great big fat,Raja Raja Raja Thondiraja ran.It was a sight to behold,a mark in history! Something which obese children will read in the future and get inspired by,he started spriting like Captain VJkanth ,this was what the doctor..er…sage ordered for..

Democracy,majority, India and the world

January 23, 2009 § 16 Comments

Its no more Barack H Obama,it is president Barack H Obama. So there we have it,like everyone else around the world,I too was glued to the T.V. ,as arguably the world’s most powerful office was taken over by a man who promises much. And as a prelude to what we might expect, he stopped a trail in Guantanmo Bay and is all set to close it.

Solilo rasied a few interesting points about our democracy and this was my comment:-

I like this post,my view about our country is simple
-our constitution is the third epic we have given to the world, after mahabaratha and ramayana.
-democracy is the biggest hypocrisy. Not that I am communist either,in fact democracy seems better of the two devils. The fact is only we “educated” people bother about all this, for the farmer,if he gets free T.V,he doesn’t realize he has to pay more bribes,or maybe they are used to it,like we are paying to cops etc..
-having a single person seems more dangerous, see what Bush did..
-whats the solution now? proper democracy? ya right and how are we ever going to bring out fair play? maybe give a fair play award, like FIFA does in every world cup..simple the cup would be sold..

I know I sound rather cynical and pessimistic, but then seriously we need people who are dedicated. The talk about how we were united during freedom struggle is all fine,we knew the face of the “enemy” but now we don’t.Not just as a state, but as the “global village”.

So continuing from where i left,I have never really thought of democracy as what Mr.Lincoln said -of the people,by the people, for the people.

Basically “people ” here would mean the majority. Now how do we know that the majority is right? If majority is always right, then how did we end up with a Bush? And it was funny seeing Americans themselves almost booing Bush. So is majority always right?

There is a saying in Tamil “Makal theeirpa makesan theeirpa” or “the people’s judgement,is God’s judgement”.I am sure there is a saying to that effect in every language. But past the romanticism of such sayings, throughout history we have seen people’s judgement as a society, not being “sane” shall we say.

The fact remains that society is a summation of individuals. Now most individuals are gullible(not enough integrity,I would say,Et tu Brute?),so if one person can harangue their belief to the masses, something like Antony did, then we are left with a judgement of one person .Without trying to digress into the merits of Brutus’ actions(after all under the statue it was, right?) ,what we do know,is that the crowd is always willing to jump on to boat with more gold.Nothing is more emphatic than bribing people for votes.

There are so many things, which we have to accept as a part of society,de reguiuer more than anything else. Yet we teach kids(I am  still  a kid) to be truthful,be honest etc, the most blasphemous thing about it is blackmail( it is blackmail ) -“God will poke your eye.” As a kid, growing up,I thought for a long time, adults as those who have values, kids are the ones who are frivolous as they don’t get the seriousness of life(blah blah blah{my am I falling in love with BODMAS?}) and when I did realize that adults are the ones who really a rope around the foot,it was some sort of revelation.

Majority isn’t always right. It seems a very mean conclusion to arrive at,particularly seeing the things majority dream about. For all the talk of majority wins, it actually took a single individual to get us (allegedly) independence.Yes,there were a lot of others, but they all were (to eulogize)a force, yet not too big enough. While Munna Bhai might be standing elections and making a few promiscuous statement about family names, we are still voting for the better devil.

And devils being devils ,have a set formula. Say you get this and that.Unity or communalism ,democracy or the thumb rule. The manifesto the “leaders” deliver, seems to be a mirror, they reflect what the people want to hear, yet they are painted behind. We are a nation which dreams about unity, about a social equity, yet it is easier for a criminal to hold a seat,in the highest house, while for others to hold on to their houses seems difficult.

The majority of us,don’t want wars or torture. Now try telling that to Taliban or Israel ? Are we trying to sell something here, which no one will buy? Or should we coat it with oil or stud with diamonds which they anyway have?

Questioning the human standard of “goodness” is what all we “good” people do.Yet beyond the first question,we have never travelled, now I do wonder,if we “good” were to choose a leader who would it be?

There is the concept of “mixing it” in football.Where in you just don’t play pretty passing game, you put in a few hard tackles and may be even break a couple of foot. But aren’t we supposed to be breaking the foot of the common enemy? Now the common enemy team, lets say are these :-

Terrorism:-Well my views are very clear about terrorism

I am tempted to add religion but abstained(immaculate) from it.Mainly because,it is the root.I don’t consider it as a social problem,it is something far wider,it is in the mind,a psychological problem,no one would ever in the name of God or in the name of not believing(we are a nation of Hindus,Muslims,Christians,Sikhs,Parsis, Buddhists and non-believers )in it commit atrocities which violate every sense of pride an animal has.

So these evils we need to throw a few hard tackles at.Yet what is the problem? It is their method for one thing(fire for fire maybe?) and we are too humane to consider hurting them. And end of the day,we are happy to live our lives(nothing wrong in that, only thing we might get affected someday ).

The only reason why Israel bombs Gaza is because Gaza has no nuclear weapons, same thing with Iraq and Afghanistan, now why then Afghanistan’s neighbor not bombed? Simple, even though they brew the Taliban mix, they have nuclear bombs, Blackmail. So where is freedom and democracy ?

I am not far from the truth, when I say, equity is still a dream and will always be a dream for the society. The more globalised we become, the more we would tend to discriminate:-

A good example are the reservation policies, it is not about each one according to your worth,oh! no it is all about which caste you belong to! And oh! whats the preamble again?

WE, THE PEOPLE OF INDIA, having solemnly resolved to constitute India into a SOVEREIGN SOCIALIST SECULAR DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC and to secure to all its citizens:

JUSTICE, social, economic and political;
LIBERTY of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship;
EQUALITY of status and of opportunity;
and to promote among them all
FRATERNITY assuring the dignity of the individual and the unity and integrity of the Nation;

IN OUR CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY this twenty-sixth day of November, 1949, do HEREBY ADOPT, ENACT AND GIVE TO OURSELVES THIS CONSTITUTION.

Hypocrisy ? Good enough, isn’t it.Well it is an epic as I said. We  find the government doing work against all this. But what I should appreciate is that if I were in a communist country I would not even be allowed to write this. So much for my two paise of freedom. I live in a large Metro and one of the country’s safest,I have no clue of communal violence except what I read and see on T.V. I will proudly say,my city is one in which communal violence will not boil out.

So back to the whole issue of majority. When the parties try to sell positions in the country, how far are we from the old situation? What are the virtues and what are the vices? The ban against Smoking, hasn;t gone anywhere. Nor has U.N. done anything great about human rights situation(OMG! UN? WHATS THAT?) in many countries.

The leaders and whom so ever it is gain power, thanks to support. So as a society we need to do something( not watch NDTV and send SMSes and comments). Whatever system arises, there will be some problems which arise,as the aces dealt are equal(wow! something is fair!) to all.The fiends ,will grow along, but we need to grow faster than them.We need to evolve into something they can’t catch. And at doing all this,we need to do it in a way, which our “inner voice” will agree. When we choose someone,we need to know what they do.Maybe instead of the budget, the government should publish the cash flow for each project it undertakes.Maybe,we educated need to stand up and take control. In times when we are moving into the age of intelligence, a person who is still stuck with medieval ideas can do no good. And without pointing fingers, what we will have to do is,take up the onus and try to initiate a change.

And to change, it is the children(nurture) whom we can start it with. The terrorists have learned it well.We should make sure, that the poor kids learn values which do the world good. We need to stop war,as all it does is cause more anger, when an action is so sever ,what about the reaction? We need people with the same standards.

President Obama seems to be the person, but I am not that sure others are going to cooperate.

Lets hope for the best.
