On 13 November 2010(A slightly overcast day, if you must know), Oxford book store, Nungambakkam, Chennai hosted the launch of the book Rise Of The Sword, part of the Prophecy series by Priya K.

Priya is 19 year old from Chennai, doing her final year Literature in Stella Maris College, Chennai. Just when she was about to take the beaten path of DEAd(Doctor, Engineering and Accountancy), a magical moment changed everything. The room had an air of expectation and the event began a little later than expected at 5:40 PM.

The event began, with the author introducing the audience to the book- Neha Sharma and atlantologist Nick Halliday go in search of the lost city of Atlantis. They end up in Lemuria, where a prophecy changes Neha’s life forever.

The Guest of Honour- Mr. Muthiah(eminent journalist, author, columnist and teacher) officially launched the book. He praised the author and commended her language and style and spoke about the lack of good communication skills in today’s generation. He added that albeit not being a fan of fantasy, he still found the book nice to read.

Priya then replied to the questions posted by the audience talking about how she started writing, her inspirations and influences. She also spoke about how her parents and brother supported in her endeavour.  Following the audience interaction, Priya read an extract from her book.

The extract was not only funny but fresh, it had the audience rolling in laughter. The event closed with the author signing copies of the book.
