advaitha and vishishtadvaita

November 11, 2006 § 12 Comments

first of all to understand what i mean by “everything is an illusion”
the understanding of the advaita ,vishishtadvaita is needed….
while one seems to be dealing with the thing all of us are the unknow supreme supernatural in this world and the other that we the unknowand we are two seperate things..
i agree with both as both actually mean the same..this again is widely misinterpreted…..while most ppl dis agree with vishishtadvaita it actually is inaccordance to my idea of everything is illusion…
to show this here are a few examples:
1.if u are in a room with 101 mirriors you are actually seeing 101 yourself in those mirrors…while advaita says that this is just a reflection of yourself
vishishtadvaita says that the reflections are a different quantity as they are of different size from you and also there properties are different…
2.there is a puddle of water on a marble floor…it is quite obvious only the truly observant can see the difference btween the water and the marble…if u dont notice it both are the same ie.the marble if u see it it is water and marble….

vishishtadvaita is derived from advaitha….here is my actual inerpretation of these:
I HAVE BEEN SAYING THAT WE ARE CREATORS IN EVOLUTION THIS IS UP TO A CERTAIN STAGE AS WE ARE BESTOWED WITH THE POWER TO CHANGE ARE SURROUNDINGS(UNLIKE PLANTS AND ANIMALS)…BUT ONCE WE REALISE WHAT IS HAPPENING IN AND AROUND US WE SLOWLY BECOME THE BRAHMAM THE UNKNOW QUANTITY(THIS IS WHAT IS CALLED AS SALVATION)SO THOUGH EVERYTHING IS THE UNKNOW UNTIL IT REALISES IT IT IS NOT THE UNKNOW IF THE MIRROR IMAGE CAN REALISE ITSELF AS A SEPERATE BEING AND THINK AND ACT IT BECOMES LIKE US OR US BUT UNTIL IT DOES THIS WE ARE SEPERATE IT IS SEPERATE
THUS THIS IS THE LINK BETWEEN THE TWO PHILOSOPHIES….

now i hope you are able to understand why death is an illusion…

I didn’t know you were talking about religion, when you said death was an illusion.
I think I might get the idea of what you mean. But, since I know nothing of advaita ,vishishtadvaita or hinduism, I’m giving myself a crash course from wikepedia. you’ll have to bear with my ignorance.

this isnt excatly religion this has been branded rather…as thee things are often misinterpreted..
    wiki a good starting place…

  • L>T says:

well, don’t give up on me. I mean to say religion as a philosophy that attempts to explain some inner workings of the universe. I have heard people say that Eastern religious philosophy can be compared to some of the ideas in Quantum physics. Since I struggle with both, perhaps they are right. 🙂

Am I on the right track?

  • iamvisheshur says:

well i accept that it is a little deep but also there are many ‘western’philosophers who have given the same ideas…infact there are many wester advaitic followers…
everytrack is the as frost says it depends which we choose…

i donno i think i understand the first part better than the last part . well im not into filosofy but i think ur rite .we sure got pover to change the surroundings. upto a point i thot that way but i found out(a book actually)that maybe its just that we are supposed to be doing vat ve mean vere not supposed to be doing. like for4 eggsample beaver builds a dam its only benificial to i and some others but u see it causes more dissavantages than the advantages. we are just who ve are its the sixth sense thatrs conffusing us id say ve live selfishly and only help others if ve like to in other vords my filosofy is based on power oppose it if u can but thats the truth

  • shensu says:

the other parts like advaita vatever. i donno so i commented on vat i knew since u vanted 1!!!

  • AssasinNightmare says:

  • iamvisheshur says:

@harsha:thank u but whats ur opinion on the whole abt the topic??

  • L>T says:

tell me about some western philosophy along the same lines O.K.? that might give me a better idea.

  • iamvisheshur says:

well many of the poets are….
im not able to recollect the names rite now..

  • I think we don’t have any sort of power to change the environment around us. We are just like the trees – Pawns in the big game. Hard to accept, but that is my view.
